So we all know how excited Kensleigh has been to start preschool. However, the Monday before she was suppose to start school that Wedsneday I noticed she felt a little warm when I was putting her to bed and she had also complained of her head hurting that night. I really didn't think too much of it until the next morning when she woke up burning like a flame. Poor girl had a 103 fever and kept telling me over and over, "Mama, I do not feel good..." Needless to say she didn't eat much and what was consumed, lets just say it wasn't pretty.... She slept ALL afternoon(I had to go wake her up after 4.5 hours) and still went to bed that night around 7:30pm. She was pitiful....
Needless to say I couldn't send her to school for her FIRST day ever! I was sad, she was sad, I was sad for her...I was just hoping that it was some random 24 hour bug and she'd be over it so she could go to school on Thursday. When she woke up on Wednesday she was over 'it', whatever 'it' was...I was happy to have my silly little girl back and she was happy that she could go to school the following day. All was right with world again!
Wednesday night I made sure I had her backpack packed with everything that was needed. I got her lunch and snack packed up (Kensleigh even got to help me with that). She was giddy with excitement. Thursday morning she woke up ready for preschool. Saying she was excited was an understatement. She kept jumping around unable to control her excitement.

Onto preschool we went. As we got closer Kensleigh became very solemn, almost like, "why are we going to preschool?" For the most part Kensleigh is really outgoing and loud, but when she's around a bunch of people she doesn't know she becomes very reserved. But I stayed upbeat and told her she would love it! We waited in the carpool line and finally got to the front. I go to open the door and I CAN'T GET THE DOOR TO OPEN...Yes people, it WOULD NOT open. I got really flustered and then tried to unlocked the door but only proceeded to roll down the windows... I know, I know, one would think I would know how to work my own car, but to my advantage it is a new car that I've barely had for a week. So after what felt like 10 minutes we got the door to open and Susan (the assistant at the preschool) got Kensleigh out and off she went (and off I went embarrassed....I mean, I'm pretty sure I will forever be known as the mom who held up carpool...yep thats me!) Note to self: Car must be in park before opening sliding door from the inside...
sigh
Kensleigh came home that afternoon with her friend Ansley and was jumping around that she got to go to preschool too, "like Ansley did mama!" (Ansley was in preschool last year) She took a great nap and when she woke up she told me all about swinging up high and singing and playing with play dough. It was an exciting day all around and she's already ready for next week to come so she can go to preschool again!
