Whew...Sunday was a fun filled day with a Georgia round trip for us. We started off the day going to church and to breakfast. Then in the car to meet my mom to go strawberry picking, which I couldn't think of a better way to spend Mothers Day than with her and my babies...So we drove down to the "middle of nowhere" Georgia, (as Jong would call it) and Strawberry picking we went. Kensleigh had gone last year and the first thing out of her mouth this year was "Ooh, I get ice cream right there." How did she remember? Smart girl... Last year as soon as Kensleigh would pick the berries she'd popped them in her mouth and eat them. I remember her shirt drench with strawberry juice. This year all she wanted to do was hold the buckets. Even as we were loading them down with strawberries she still was determined to carry them. When we would try to carry them for her and she'd say, "No, those my buckets-you have to share..nicely..."Hah-I wonder where she's heard that before?
So we picked strawberries and we ate strawberry ice cream (the best you'll ever have) and we felt like we had been on the beach for hours due to the heat. What happened to the overcast weather? I'm not sure, because we were expecting cloudy and slight mud due to the rain the day before-Neither of which were present. But we sure did have a great time anyway.
After Strawberry picking we thought, What the heck?, since we were already in middle Ga we should surprise Jongs mom and take her out for dinner. Whats the extra hour in the car? So we headed on over to them, got a table for 5 and 2 kids, and when she walked in her face was priceless. So worth the extra time in the car. I can't even describe how excited she was to see us. I mean mainly the kids, us too of course, but the kids mostly...
It was a great, wonderful, long day, but all worth it to be with the ones we love most. I'd say the BEST Mothers Day yet. However, don't be fooled, when we got home Sunday night we fell into our beds and fell fast asleep-literaly.... I think Jong was as happy as me to get 8.5hours of deep sleep in that night....
