Anxiously Waiting...

So today is the BIG day.  I've been waiting for this day since I found out we were expecting.  Today is the day we find out the gender of our little sprout... Originally, I thought I wouldn't be able to wait this long.  I thought we would get a 3d/4d ultrasound at 16 weeks.  And originally my ultrasound at my Doctor was schedule for April 28th when I was 17 weeks.  Well my doctor's  appointment got rescheduled and I'm not going  to lie, I was more than  a little disappointed, but Jong and my mom reassured me that I could wait and it would just make it all the better.  Plus Jong wanted to wait to get a 3d/4d until about 26-28 weeks when we would be able to see more of the baby- so I agreed.

And then after April 28th passed I thought "Oh, this isn't as bad as I thought", but it was still hard because several people I knew that were having babies who found out they were expecting after me found out the gender of their baby before me and that made me jealous.  But I just kept telling myself I could wait, kinda like the little engine who could, "I think I can , I think I can, I think I can..."

And now here we are, The big day, and  i've begun to think  "Do I even want to know? What would it be like to have it a surprise and announce the gender at the hospital when he/she is born?"  But then the other little devil on my shoulder says "Kendall, just do it-you've waited this long, you deserved to know..."  So I guess we'll see what happens in the moment.  I mean both Jong and I want to know, but it's been fun to guess and not know and play around with all those old wives tales...

So stay tuned I guess  and we'll see what baby sprout is,  boy or girl...pink or blue... Because I mean as fun as it would be to wait until the delivery, I really want to decorate with pink or blue, not green or yellow.  And honestly I don't know if I could stand being this anxious much longer....

Easy Yummy Dinner!

So as you are all aware I have been struggling to get stuff done around the house, especially cook.  But I read a friends blog (Thanks Dana) and got this recipe.  Now I will say that I too changed it up a bit, but mostly followed her directions.  But heres what I did and what you need.

::Easy Enchiladas::
1 lb chicken
4 cups mozzarella or quesadilla cheese
16 oz sour cream
1/4 tsp ground red pepper
about 7 flour tortillas
red enchilada sauce
Boil the chicken

Mix up the sour cream, shredded mozzarella cheese (2 cups), ground red pepper, and diced chicken in a large bowl
Fry the flour tortillas in oil for 5 seconds on each side
Next, dip each tortilla in the enchilada sauce
Spoon the chicken mixture in each tortilla and roll up nice and tight
place in  a 9 x 13 pyrex
Cook at 375 for 25 minutes.
Top with last 2 cups cheese 5 minutes before taking out of oven!

Sorry I have no picture to share, we ate them up so fast last night, there was no time to take one! But I will say they were super good and definitely not hard to make. I suggest you give them a try and you too will be impressed.

Pregnancy Pillow Update...

This is my new best friend!

So I have slept with my new pillow for 4 nights now and let me tell you-It helps BIG time!  Instead of waking up and tossing and turning all night long,  I have been able to sleep more comfortably and only wake up for the occasional bathroom break or during the loud thunderstorm, (like last night).

To all you preggers out there- GO get the pillow-Trust Me! It doesn't matter that your husband will make fun of you or call your pillow the "great divid".  You will just be happy to sleep through the night.

Pregnancy Pillow...

So I've been having trouble sleeping lately, especially falling asleep and staying asleep.  I mean I wake up at least once, if not twice, to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.  And then I have a hard time getting comfortable to go back to sleep.  I mean let me just tell you that I am a stomach sleeper and ever since I found out about Sprout I've been sleeping on my side.  (Not my favorite at all!) So I've been looking and praying for a miracle to get me comfortable and sleeping better.

So after talking with a friend last night I decided to give in and purchase the all famous preggers pillow.  You know the really long one thats shaped like "C"?  I thought that maybe I could get away without it and that maybe I could just use extra pillows-I mean I'm not even that big yet- but after last night I was told it was a must have and money well spent, and that this pillow was a miracle worker.  I mean, how could I not buy it after hearing that.  I still think that $50 for a pillow is a bit ridiculous, but I've been desperate for a solution to help my sleeping so I gave in and bought it today.  Hey, at least I had a coupon!

Tonight is my first night with my new best friend, so I'll let you know how it goes...

Finally a little energy....

Okay, so  I finally am starting to feel a bit more like myself.  I have just started to have a bit more energy-phew! I mean finally 15 weeks weeks later...  However, it has been a tough couple of weeks.  I have been sick and not sick from "sprout", but I had some horrible sinus infection and let me just tell you, it knocked me right off my feet. I had to stay in bed for a couple of days, not to mention, it left me coughing and and stuffy "nosed" for the past 2 weeks.  But now, finally now, I am starting to get over all the sickness and move into the 2nd trimester of pregnancy.

So here at the Kim household I've been struggling to get things done.  You know, like laundry and just keeping the house clean and tidy.  But hopefully with the start of my 2nd trimester I'll be able to have a little more energy to feel like doing household chores.  I am usually pretty anal when it comes to cleaning, but being so tired in my 1st trimester made me care about as much as um, nothing...  Luckily, I have a sweet husband who has been helping with dinners and keeping the kitchen tidy.

On an exciting note, we go for our next ultrasound on the 28th!  Bright and early in the morning I might add! We can't wait because if sprout is cooperating then we will leave knowing pink or blue!  If not, then I am going to make an appointment with one of the 4b baby vision places because I really don't think I'll be able to wait another 4 weeks to find out the gender.  I am at that point where I want to start buying things (I have held off so far) and start getting the nursery together.  I know it may be early, but the furniture is ordered and I am ready to get the nursery organized!

And may I just say on a random note that Rolling in the Deep by Adele is like my favorite new song! Love it!  And I'm loving Avril's new album too...

Psycho Chic

So the other day, Sunday to be exact, was  LONG day.  All week I dreaded Sunday.  At work we had a new Summer floorset to start and I just knew that I would be totally zonked after the day was over.  Well, Sunday came and while it was long it was not as bad as I had feared.  I was just happy to be on the way home.  I was ready to pull in the driveway, park the car, go upstairs and get in bed, and just lay in some peace and silence.

Well, let me just tell you, I had not experienced "psycho" Kendall yet and I don't know that I was ready to meet her.  But she had a different plan.  (Just to let you all know I had been warned she may appear due to all the ranging hormones).

So as the story goes, I pull in my neighborhood daydreaming of my nice comfy bed and then as I approach my house I notice a car right in the MIDDLE of my driveway.  I mean who does that?  I became totally enraged and even thought about smashing into that car and teaching them a lesson. (Lesson being don't mess with a Pregnant lady's parking spot.)  But then I thought that would just cause more problems for myself.  So then I thought about parking right in the middle of my yard, but then thought "What would the neighbors think?"  So as the rage continued to build up I pull over to my pool house to park and try to call the house to get whoever to MOVE their CAR!

I called 5 times! 5 TIMES-And  NO answer.  So I had to yell at someone, so I proceeded to call my loving mother and yell my story of someone taking up the entire driveway and that I couldn't get in the garage and all I really wanted was go to bed because the day had been so long and that no one was answering their phone for me to tell them to move their car and that I was too tired to get out and walk from the pool house so I might as well just sleep in my car. Whoa!  And in mid screaming I began to sob and felt so hopeless like the world was crashing down on top of me.

Then the husband called me back and said "Sorry babe I didn't hear my phone ring, what's up?" to which I proceeded to say while sobbing and huffing and puffing "Please tell whoever parked their freaking car in the middle of my driveway to move!"

I think Jong was scared.  He had never heard me sound like this.  I mean,  I was scared to think I became so enraged over something so stupid.  My face was bringht red, streaked with tears and I was embarrassed with how upset I had gotten.

Needless to say the car got moved and I was able to park in my spot and go upstairs and lay in silence in my room.  Jong came to check on me a little bit later and I apologized for my psychoness; but warned him that she may appear again and to just bear with me for the next 6 months.

Luckily, it's been 3 days and there has been no reappearance-but you've all been warned.

Friends and baby Maddie

One of the nicest things in my life
is my friendship with you
and even if we don't have a lot of time
to spend with each other
I want you to always know
how much I appreciate you and our friendship.
-Susan Polis Schutz

So this weekend I went to my hometown of Columbus, Ga for a dear friends baby shower.  My friend Amanda had little Miss Maddie Kate in January.  We waited to have the shower after the  arrival of  baby Maddie because it was a tough pregnancy and Amanda was on bed rest for most of her pregnancy.

But now Maddie is here and healthy and she is so precious.  Just to look at her and know that she is an answered prayer-God is so good!

Here are some pictures form the shower....

This was the beautiful cake ( I wish I could say that I made it, maybe I'll take up cake decorating next...)

These are my Oreo Balls.  They are wonderfully delicious and easy to make-but very tedious...

The shower was amazing and I am so glad I got to spend a little time with my Columbus girls.  Its never enough time, but at least I'm glad I got to see their beautiful faces & baby Maddie's of course.
