Holy Cow! We have a 6 Month Old!

May I just say that I should be cleaning the kitchen right now, but I thought I'd rather blog... I dont get around to it much these days, I don't even get on to read others that I really like.  Some days I just feel overwhelmed and others I would rather spend time with that sweet baby girl of mine and sleep.  I mean what is sleep anyway?  Now I must say, that I have truly been blessed with a sleepy child- She sleeps all most of the time. And she sleeps good at night too, but I guess half the time I am doing house work and laundry when she's down... If only I could hire a maid?

Anywho onto much more interesting news....

I can't believe it has been 6 months since Kensleigh's birth.  Its pretty amazing how fast time goes by.  She has truly changed our world! As my Dad, Big Daddy Handsome, as Kensleigh "calls" him, put it tonight she only has 171/2 more years before she goes off to college. I'm guessing those will fly by too.

Nothing too exciting going on here except Kensleigh constantly changing.  She just started sitting up by herself, like today- as in tonight.  Not for terribly long or anything but much longer than the 2 seconds before toppling over on her side.  We have started solids.  And may I say its been a bit of a challenge. I guess I suspected it to be easy and for her to pick it up right away.  I mean she's been such a "good" baby I just thought she would LOVE baby food.  UMM, not so much. Her pediatrician wanted her to start on oatmeal.  So we tried that at 5 months. Did not like it, so I tried again, and again, and again.  I even put some in a bottle thinking she would take it, but she refused and would have rather gone to bed hungry.  So then I tried rice cereal, nope, didn't like that either.  So at about 6 months I tried avocados and bananas.  She did much better with that and from there she will now eat sweet potatoes and apples. However, still not very interested in eating, but the doctor said not to worry because she gets most of her nutrition from my milk.  I am making her baby food too, I actually enjoy it.  It's definitely easier and less time consuming than I thought.  Though, I'm not opposed to some store bought.

I also started giving her a sippy cup to use play with.  It's fun to watch her because she knows it goes in her mouth but she just chews away on it.  Then tosses it on the floor and terrifies the dogs with it.  ( I mean it is the size of one of their little heads)

Kensleigh 6 month stats:
27" long (87%)
15.10 lbs (42%)
16 1/2 head circumference (33%)

She loves her musical sea horse, her blanket, and her paci (when she's sleepy). My best friend Abby  actually gave her the blanket she sleeps with.  Its not one one pictured above, it was dirty and in the wash this particular night, but its part fuzzy and part silky and Miss Kens loves snuggling it. She's in 6 month clothing and still has no teeth, but loves chewing on anything and everything she can get her little hands on.

Okay, onto tackle that Kitchen.....
